Explore one of the last remaining wild barrier islands in Florida – CaladesiIslandState Park.After taking a 20 minute ferry ride from HoneymoonIsland, we will walk a three mile nature trail taking us through three eco-systems due to an eleven foot elevation.We will also trek to the remains of the homestead of Myrtle Scharrer Betz, the woman who grew up on the island and recounted her amazing life in her book Yesteryear I Livedin Paradise.We will stop to enjoy our lunch by her favorite pine tree.

HoneymoonIslandState Park is located in Dunedin at the end Curlew Road ( SR 586).
Park entrance fee is $8.00 per vehicle ($4 for single occupant).
Caladesi Island Ferry Fee is $10.00
We will catch the first ferry at 10:00 am and return on the 2:00 pm ferry.Bring your own lunch and good walking shoes.HoneymoonIsland also has a beautiful trail and NatureCenter which can be experienced later in the day.
